This project is a renovation of a decade-old apartment. Due to the significant differences between the current owner’s lifestyle and that of the previous resident, the overall spatial order was completely restructured, redefining circulation and functional logic from the ground up. After excluding the bedroom, only approximately 23 square meters remained for the public area, yet it was required to accommodate the entryway, living room, dining area, and kitchen simultaneously. Therefore, floor segmentation was adopted as the primary design language, using precise dimensional control to delineate zones, allowing each area to remain distinct while maintaining visual and spatial continuity.
During the design process, irregular residual corners were intentionally preserved and transformed, converting previously unusable spaces into functional elements so that every inch within the limited footprint holds meaning. The color palette is based on warm off-white tones, with latte hues forming the visual axis. Through layered, subtle gradations, the sense of compression inherent to small spaces is alleviated, creating a light, warm, and serene living environment.
